The Meaning Behind the ENERGY STAR® Label

If you’re in the market for replacement windows, you can never go wrong with those that bear the ENERGY STAR® label. V. Nanfito Roofing and Siding offers a wide range of replacement windows that come with this logo.

The Meaning Behind the ENERGY STAR® Label

Let’s discuss what this symbol means and what our windows can offer you.

The ENERGY STAR label

This is the trusted government-supported symbol for energy efficiency that will help you save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices. Its primary objective is to help lessen greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by inefficient energy use. It also serves as a guideline for consumers to identify energy-saving products without compromising performance, features, and comfort.

ENERGY STAR Standards

For a window replacement to qualify as an ENERGY STAR product, it should meet the strict performance standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These include:

  • Dual or triple pane windows should have inert gases, such as argon, between them to improve their insulation against heat transfer in and out of your home.
  • A window’s frame material should improve the window’s insulating properties.

  • The window’s spacers should be at the right distance to reduce heat flow and help prevent condensation.

  • A replacement window should have Low-E glass to lessen the amount of heat that enters and leaves your home. This should also reflect UV rays to protect your furnishings from UV-induced fading by as much as 75%.

Our ENERGY STAR-rated Replacement Windows

We offer windows with insulating properties that will help increase your home’s comfort levels. In fact, we can provide you windows that may qualify you for federal tax rebates and other incentive programs. Furthermore, our windows are easy to clean and maintain. They also come with a block and tackle system for ease of function.
